On paper, this looks like steady influence and a consistent support base. But the political mood in Punjab has been shifting fast. BJP is still struggling to build a deep cultural and emotional base in the state. Many say Pathankot is one of the few places where BJP has a workable organizational presence, while others believe the seat survives more on national leadership narrative rather than local political delivery. Will Ashwani Sharma enter 2027 as a grounded local leader, or as a beneficiary of broader national winds?

But the real question remains: Will symbolic gestures, renaming proposals, and spiritual outreach finally help BJP gain momentum in Adampur, a seat long dominated by Congress and Akali Dal. Is the party still oblivious about the the real political fight on ground ?

Jagbir Singh Brar has moved through almost every major political party in Punjab, starting from SAD, then joining PPP, then shifting to Congress, later returning to SAD, then switching to AAP, and finally landing in the BJP, making it his fifth party in 14 years. He first won Jalandhar Cantt in 2007 on SAD ticket, and later contested Nakodar as the INC candidate in 2017, but lost. In 2022, he fought from Jalandhar Cantt on SAD ticket again, but lost again. In 2024, he joined BJP that added another twist to political journey. With the 2027 election coming closer, will the BJP actually trust Jagbir Singh Brar as its face from Nakodar, or will his long list of party switches make the party think twice ?
