Students giving computer practical exams without computers, labs running on machines from 2005, and even the few working systems taken away for other schemes, yet the Government continues to showcase “Sikhya Kranti” as a major success story. With new computers worth ₹400 Crores promised only after years of delay, the real question is about claims versus classroom reality. Is Punjab’s much-publicised Sikhya Kranti under Education Minister Harjot Bains and the Aam Aadmi Party a real digital transformation or are students being asked to learn the future on broken machines while the revolution remains mostly in announcements ?

ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੀ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਪ੍ਰੈਕਟਿਕਲ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗਸ਼ਾਲਾਵਾਂ 2005 ਦੀ ਪੁਰਾਣੀ ਤਕਨੀਕ ‘ਤੇ ਚੱਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਵੀ ਹੋਰ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਲੈ ਜਾਏ ਗਏ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਸਰਕਾਰ “ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ” ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ₹400 ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਵਾਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਅਸਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਦਾਵਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਹਕੀਕਤ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਫਰਕ ਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਹਰਜੋਤ ਬੈਂਸ ਅਤੇ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਚਰਚਿਤ "ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ" ਵਾਸਤਵਿਕ ਡਿਜ਼ਿਟਲ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਉਪਕਰਣਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਸਿੱਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਦਕਿ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਐਲਾਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੀ ਸੀਮਿਤ ਹੈ ?
