Joginder Singh Mann, nephew of late Union Home Minister Buta Singh, three-time MLA from Phagwara, Former Cabinet Minister, and Former Chairman of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation, joined AAP before the 2022 elections, and contested from Phagwara on an AAP ticket. He secured 34,505 votes but lost to Congress candidate Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal.
