In 2022, Kulwant Singh Sidhu (AAP) stormed Atam Nagar with 44,369 votes (42.44%), defeating Congress’ Kamaljit Singh Karwal, Lok Insaaf’s Simarjeet Singh Bains, Akali Dal’s Harish Rai Dhanda and BJP’s Prem Mittal. His landslide highlighted not only AAP’s surge but also the fragmented and shifting loyalties of the local leaders.
