Vijay Kumar Kalra fought the 2022 elections on the Congress ticket from Guru Har Sahai, but could gather only 5,578 votes (4%), while AAP surged past 68,000 and SAD held nearly 58,000. With Congress losing almost 42% of its vote share, the gap wasn’t small, it was massive. So the real question is: After such a result, does Vijay Kumar Kalra realistically have any space left before the 2027 election ?

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ 2027 ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਮ ਆਦਮੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੂਬੇ ਭਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਕੱਢਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ, ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ, ਕਾਨੂੰਨ-ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਧਦੇ ਕਰਜ਼ੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਵਾਅਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾਅ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਠੋਸ ਰਾਹ ਦਿਖਾਉਣਗੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਸੱਤਾਧਾਰੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ’ਤੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਦੌਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ ? ਕੀ ਚਰਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਚੰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਬਣਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਹਰ ਚੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਓਹੀ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਵਾਅਦੇ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਂਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ ? ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਈਕਲ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਥਕ ਕੀ ਬਣਾਏਗਾ ?
