Punjab’s 'Yudh Nashe Virudh' was launched as a full-scale war on addiction, promising strict action and relief for families. Yet tragedies like this force a painful question, if the war is real, why are families still losing everything before help reaches them ? Is 'Yudh Nashe Virudh' protecting Punjab’s youth or has it remained a campaign of words while the crisis continues on the ground ? Is the Bhagwant Mann Government truly breaking the drug chain or only reacting after the damage is done ?

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਨਤਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਤਰਫਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਾ ਕਿੱਸਾ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਦੀ ਵਿਧਾਇਕਾ ਗਨੀਵ ਕੌਰ ਮਜੀਠੀਆ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਤਿੱਖੀ ਅਲੋਚਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਰਾਜ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਸੰਵਿਧਾਨਕ ਅਹੁਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ। ਅਲੋਚਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ ਇੱਕ “ਰੰਗੀਨਮਿਜ਼ਾਜ ਕਹਾਣੀ” ਵਾਂਗ ਲੱਗਿਆ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਾਂਗ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਟਿੱਪਣੀਆਂ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਦਰਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ।
