Punjab BJP president Sunil Kumar Jakhar mocked Rahul Gandhi’s Barnala rally as a public warning to divided Congress leaders. But beyond highlighting Congress factionalism, the bigger political test for the BJP is its own journey in Punjab after breaking away from its long-time ally, the Shiromani Akali Dal. As the party tries to grow independently for the first time, the real question is whether focusing on rivals’ weaknesses will help it expand or whether the lack of a strong grassroots base and social acceptance could eventually turn the spotlight back on the BJP itself. If organisational growth does not match political messaging, could the party risk becoming a subject of political mockery rather than a serious alternative ahead of 2027 ?

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੁਨੀਲ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜਾਖੜ ਨੇ ਰਾਹੁਲ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਬਰਨਾਲਾ ਰੈਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਨੇਤਾਵਾਂ ਲਈ ਖੁੱਲੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਪਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਧੜੇਬੰਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਹੁਣ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਗਠਜੋੜ ਟੁੱਟਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ। ਹੁਣ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਲਬੂਤੇ ਵਧਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੀ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਾਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਵੀਕਾਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਕਮੀ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ ’ਤੇ ਲਿਆ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਸੰਗਠਨਕ ਤਾਕਤ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਧਦੀ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ 2027 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਵਿਕਲਪ ਬਣਨ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਤੌਰ ’ਤੇ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਾ ਬਣ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ?
