Punjab’s healthcare system is now under visible strain as nurses launch an indefinite strike over grade pay, leaving hospitals in Patiala, Amritsar, and Mohali struggling to function smoothly. Operation theatres, wards, and routine care are all being affected, but the bigger question is, where is the urgency from those in charge ? While frontline workers say they’ve been raising this issue for years, the response from the Government, especially the Health Minister, seems slow and reactive. So when nurses are on strike, patients are waiting, and hospitals are stretched, should the focus be on blaming the protest, or questioning why things were allowed to reach this point in the first place ? And more importantly, is the Health Minister managing a crisis, or simply reacting after the damage is already done ?

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਸਿਹਤ ਤੰਤਰ ਇਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਬਾਅ ਹੇਠ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਨਰਸਾਂ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰੇਡ ਪੇਅ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤਕਾਲੀਨ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਹਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਓਪਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਥੀਏਟਰ, ਵਾਰਡ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ ? ਜਦੋਂ ਫਰੰਟਲਾਈਨ ਵਰਕਰ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਮਸਲਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਸਰਕਾਰ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਏਨ੍ਹੀ ਹੌਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਰਿਐਕਟਿਵ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ? ਜਦੋਂ ਨਰਸਾਂ ਹੜਤਾਲ ’ਤੇ ਹਨ, ਮਰੀਜ਼ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਦਬਾਅ ਹੇਠ ਹਨ, ਕੀ ਦੋਸ਼ ਹੜਤਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਇੱਥੇ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ? ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੱਲ, ਕੀ ਸਿਹਤ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ?
