Once trusted by his Tayaji Parkash Singh Badal and admired for blending legislative speeches with Urdu poetry and philosophical one-liners, Manpreet Singh Badal was once seen as Punjab’s “thinking politician.” But from Akali Dal to People’s Party of Punjab, then Congress and later BJP, his constant political shifts have also made critics joke that Manpreet changes parties faster than Punjab changes alliances.
