Sukhbir Singh Badal has accused Giani Raghbir Singh of acting like an AAP worker and warned the Bhagwant Mann Government against using religion for political purposes. The remarks have once again placed the relationship between Punjab's religious institutions and political parties under the spotlight. But they also raise a sharper question when political leaders repeatedly accuse each other of politicising religion, are they exposing a genuine problem, or simply fighting over who controls the narrative around faith and Panthic politics ? ਸੁਖਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਨੇ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਰਘਬੀਰ ਸਿੰਘ 'ਤੇ ‘ਆਪ’ ਦੇ ਵਰਕਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਣ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਾਵਨੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਬਿਆਨ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫਿਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਛੇੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਵੀ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਆਗੂ ਵਾਰ-ਵਾਰ ਇਕ-ਦੂਜੇ 'ਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਲਈ ਵਰਤਣ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਸਲ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਵੱਲ ਇਸ਼ਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਇਹ ਲੜਾਈ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਥਕ ਅਤੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ 'ਤੇ ਕਾਬੂ ਕਿਸਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ ? ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਉਸਦੇ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਕਾਰਨ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਗੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ?
