Punjab's education model is often showcased by Arvind Kejriwal and Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains as one of the AAP Government's biggest success stories. Yet the latest PLFS data shows that 4.24 Lakhs teenagers aged 14–18 in Punjab are not attending school. That raises a difficult question: Can a government celebrate education reforms when hundreds of thousands of young people are missing from classrooms altogether ? As smart schools, foreign training tours and education campaigns grab headlines, is Punjab building a model for students, or a model that still cannot keep too many students in the system ?
