ਕਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਸੱਤਾਧਾਰੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਮੰਨੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਅੱਜ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗਿਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਲੜਾਈ ਵੀ ਲੜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਚੋਣ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ, ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਬਗਾਵਤਾਂ, ਬੇਅਦਬੀ ਵਿਵਾਦ, ਕਥਿਤ ਮਾਫੀਆ ਸੰਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼, ਖੇਤੀ ਕਾਨੂੰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਵਿਕਲਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਭਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਪਾਰਟੀ 2027 ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਕ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਪਸੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਮੁੜ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਬਦਲਿਆ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਿਰਾਵਟ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਮੁੜ ਜਿੱਤ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ? ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਕੀ ਉਸਦੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਹੀ ਅੱਜ ਉਸਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਬੋਝ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ ? ਕੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਹੁਣ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਲਈ ਤਾਂ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਉਸ 'ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ?
