The high command has backed Raja Warring as Punjab Congress President, but the rebellion inside the party shows no signs of cooling down. Rebel leaders continue to hold their own meetings under the Congress banner, while Warring’s supporters insist that the official leadership has already been decided. Bhupesh Baghel’s unity efforts have also failed to end the standoff. With ticket distribution and the 2027 election strategy looming large, Punjab Congress now faces a rather awkward question: who actually controls the party, the high command, the PCC President, the rebels or has the factional war itself taken control ?
