With 2027 approaching, political debates around religion and identity are again becoming sharper. But Punjab’s voters are also facing very real concerns, unemployment, inflation, farmers’ issues, migration, drugs and a struggling economy. The bigger question is whether the BJP can build its Punjab campaign around these everyday issues, or whether a stronger identity-based narrative will dominate the election. What should the BJP focus on if it wants to win Punjab’s trust ?

2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਪਛਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਬਹਿਸ ਮੁੜ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਬੇਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰੀ, ਮਹਿੰਗਾਈ, ਕਿਸਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ, ਪਰਵਾਸ, ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਅਰਥਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਅਸਲ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਜੂਝ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਵੱਡਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੋਣ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਬਣਾਏਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਛਾਣ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਹਾਵੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ ? ਜੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ?
