ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਆਗੂ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਰਲੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਦੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹਨ। 2027 ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਐਲਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਬਜਾਏ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਚੋਣ ਜਿੱਤਣਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੈਅ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਈ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਸਿਖਰਲੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ’ਤੇ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਬਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਦਾਅਵੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕਜੁੱਟ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਚੋਣ ਲੜਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਸਕੇਗੀ ਜਾਂ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਜਿੱਤਣ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੀ ਦੌੜ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ?
