The BJP’s induction of three former Aam Aadmi Party leaders - Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and Chetan Singh Jouramajra, has complicated its possible alliance with the Shiromani Akali Dal. With some new entrants having their own political bases and the Akali Dal already planning candidates for Samana and Sanaur, seat-sharing could become a major hurdle. The BJP is also preparing to contest all 117 seats on its own or as part of an alliance. Will the BJP–Akali reunion strengthen both parties or trigger a fresh battle over seats and political control ?
