As the AAP Government goes into full election mode for 2027, rolling out health insurance, women’s cash schemes, road projects, and fresh Cabinet changes, the timing is hard to miss. With Punjab already under fiscal strain, the push looks ambitious and risky. Is this a confident Government delivering before asking for another mandate or a familiar pre-election sprint where big promises race ahead of hard budget math ? 2022 ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੈਣੀ, ਜੋ ਨਵਾਂਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਵਿਧਾਇਕ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਟਿਕਟ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਲੜੀ। ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 31,000 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਰਹੇ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਮੁੜ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਵੋਟ ਸਮਰਥਨ ਵੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਹਨ।

In the 2022 assembly elections, Angad Singh Saini , a former Congress MLA from Nawanshahr, contested as an Independent after being denied the party ticket, and still polled over 31,000 votes, finishing far ahead of the official Congress candidate.
