ਸੀਚੇਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਰੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਮਬੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਪਹਿਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਥਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੀ ਘਾਟ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਮੁਹਿੰਮ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼। ਪਰ ਕੀ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਸਮਾਨਾਂਤਰ ਭਾਈਚਾਰਕ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਇਹ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਤੰਤਰ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਨਜਿੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ?
