The Bhagwant Mann Government says Punjab has attracted ₹1.89 Lakh Crores in investment proposals over four years, with an employment potential of 6.31 Lakhs jobs. But these are proposed investments and projected employment, not proof that all the jobs have already been created. At the same time, drugs remain a major political and social issue in Punjab, with the Government and opposition continuing to debate whether current efforts are working. So the real question for 2027 is: Has Punjab’s investment push actually created enough jobs for its youth and has it done enough to reduce the conditions that keep young people vulnerable to drugs ?

ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੇ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ₹1.89 ਲੱਖ ਕਰੋੜ ਦੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ 6.31 ਲੱਖ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਵਿਤ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੁਮਾਨਿਤ ਰੁਜ਼ਗਾਰ ਹਨ, ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਇਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਮੁੱਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਧਿਰ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ’ਤੇ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਾਂ ਕਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਹਨ। ਤਾਂ 2027 ਦਾ ਅਸਲ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ: ਕੀ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਨਿਵੇਸ਼ ਅਭਿਆਨ ਨੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਸਲ ਨੌਕਰੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ੇ ਵੱਲ ਧੱਕਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਥਿਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਟਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਮਦਦ ਮਿਲੀ ਹੈ ?
