The Congress high command chose Pargat Singh after both Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa were reportedly keen on the top post. The move keeps the PPCC leadership outside either camp, while Pargat now has to manage competing ambitions and a faction-ridden state unit. If Channi and Randhawa wanted the top job but were both passed over, is Pargat Singh the high command’s choice to break the factional deadlock or just a temporary truce before the real power battle begins over 2027 tickets and leadership ?
कांग्रेस के केंद्रीय नेतृत्व ने परगट सिंह को पंजाब कांग्रेस का अध्यक्ष चुना, जबकि चरणजीत सिंह चन्नी और सुखजिंदर सिंह रंधावा दोनों ही इस पद के लिए इच्छुक बताए जा रहे थे। इस फैसले से पंजाब कांग्रेस का नेतृत्व किसी एक गुट के हाथ में जाने से बच गया है। अब परगट सिंह के सामने अलग-अलग नेताओं की महत्वाकांक्षाओं और पार्टी के भीतर चल रही गुटबाजी को संभालने की चुनौती है। अगर चन्नी और रंधावा दोनों ही शीर्ष पद चाहते थे लेकिन दोनों को पीछे छोड़कर परगट सिंह को चुना गया, तो क्या वह केंद्रीय नेतृत्व की गुटबाजी खत्म करने की कोशिश हैं या 2027 के टिकट और नेतृत्व को लेकर असली सत्ता संघर्ष से पहले सिर्फ एक अस्थायी समझौता ?
