Amritsar Central has never been friendly to Shiromani Akali Dal. Despite decades in Punjab politics and strongholds elsewhere, SAD has never managed a victory here. As 2027 approaches, the question is blunt, is this urban seat simply beyond the party’s reach, or can the Akalis finally figure out a strategy that resonates with city voters, or will it remain a seat that mocks their ambitions?

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸੈਂਟਰਲ ਹਲਕਾ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਲਈ ਅਨੁਕੂਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਹਾਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਪਕੜ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਅਕਾਲੀ ਦਲ ਨੇ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ। ਜਿਵੇਂ- ਜਿਵੇਂ 2027 ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਸਵਾਲ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਹਲਕਾ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਹੈ ਜਾਂ ਕੀ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਆਖ਼ਿਰਕਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਐਸੀ ਰਣਨੀਤੀ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਣਗੇ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਇਹ ਹਲਕਾ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹੇਗਾ?
